Social Responsibility Bingo is a well-regulated and socially responsible form of gambling which takes place in a social setting. The responsibility for an individual’s gambling is his or her own; the industry’s responsibility is to exercise a duty of care. Gala Leisure wants its customers to enjoy their bingo but to participate responsibly. The range of activities we provide in our clubs have been designed to give our customers the enjoyment they look for when they visit us, whilst at the same time helping them retain the levels of control required to ensure their activities remain fun. Gala Leisure is committed to supporting the three licensing objectives through the Bingo Association Code of Conduct for Responsible Gambling, entitled Getting It Right. We recognise this approach is beneficial for both our customers and, ultimately, our business. Every Gala Bingo Club offers its customers guidance and support on gambling-related issues through the Bingo Association’s National Self-Exclusion scheme and contact details for a range of support groups. All Gala club staff are trained to recognise signs of gambling-related harm and are aware of the company’s strategy to address such issues. Through the Bingo Association, Gala Leisure provides funding to help identify vulnerable people and provide them with support and advice. We recognise that the Company’s success depends on the health of the communities in which we operate and on the engagement of our colleagues with those communities. Our CSR strategy is delivered through partnerships with various organisations as well as volunteering projects which you will have the opportunity to take part in. Our clubs regularly hold charity events and collections and our activities in this area enable us to make positive contributions to the community, the environment, the workplace and marketplaces in which we operate. This in turn, with your help, enhances our reputation.
